The Institut de Biologie Paris-Seine (IBPS) and the Institut du Fer à Moulin (IFM) are planning to merge in 2025 and will lead to the creation of a new Institute of Biology on the Pierre & Marie Curie campus of Sorbonne University. This Research Federation will be composed of four research units hosting a total of 45 teams, which decipher the fundamental principles governing development, the functioning of the nervous system, physiology and the evolution of the genome. Interdisciplinarity will be a central asset of the future institute.
The future director will be appointed from January 2025 for 5 years (renewable). His/her role will be to 1/ lead the actions of the institute; 2/ define an ambitious scientific strategy and expansion of the international visibility of the institute; 3/ promote the scientific animation of the institute as well as foster internal communication and cohesion and 4/ manage the administration, the common budget of the institute and the facilities.
